Scaling Nature Restoration

Coreo and our bespoke apps form the backbone for major ecological and conservation initiatives, providing versatility for both professional and volunteer-led surveying. A few of our 2025 projects include:

Large-Scale Landscape Recovery: Coreo streamlined surveying for a range of Landscape Recovery Projects in 2025 including the North Norfolk project, enabling the efficient baselining of more than 3,000 hectares.

Powering Nature Restoration Projects: After transforming Nattergal’s UKHab & BNG workflows, Coreo is now used for all their site baseline and monitoring programmes including birds, butterflies, reptiles and earthworm counts. Coreo is also used by Knepp, Wendling Beck and Restore, among other organisations leading the way with nature restoration.

Empowering Volunteer Networks: Coreo simplifies and speeds up data collection and is user-friendly for both professionals and volunteers. This was key for organisations like the Species Recovery Trust who rely on volunteers across the country to gather reliable data without extensive training.

The Big Blue Bag Project and Polar Collective:  The Coreo app is empowering citizen scientists of all ages and experience levels to protect their marine environment in the Big Blue Bag project, led by Monty Halls. The Polar Collective use Coreo to collect research data in the Antarctic from expeditions.

Soil Acoustics Meter (SAM):  We developed a dedicated Data Portal for Soil Acoustics' new Soil Acoustics Meter, which employs bioacoustics to monitor soil health.

Curlew Conservation:  Coreo is working with a range of curlew monitoring projects throughout the UK, helping groups to record the data they need to protect these birds. Projects have described Coreo as "paradigm shift" and "total game changer" by fostering unprecedented engagement and enabling projects to collect high quality and standardised data.

Look out for more news early next year including upcoming partnerships designed to add value and expand Natural Apptitude’s capability further in the conservation and environmental technology sectors.
