Long Forest

Monitoring and protecting hedgerows in Wales

app Store Google play

As part of the Long Forest project, run by Keep Wales Tidy, this app allows you to help with the surveying of hedgerows across Wales.  It will help build vital information about the condition and species makeup of the hedgerows.

Hedgerows form a vital part of our landscape, but they’re at risk from neglect, damage and removal. Along with Keep Wales Tidy and the other project partners, we’re taking action to halt this decline.

The Long Forest project is run by Keep Wales Tidy working in partnership with The Woodland Trust, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.

Alongside surveying, the project will be delivering practical action – recruiting thousands of volunteers to plant 100,000 trees and improve around 120,000m of hedgerow.
