British hedgehogs are in trouble. Their numbers have declined dramatically in recent years. Conservation charity London Wildlife Trust is now recording where hedgehogs can be found across the capital, in an attempt to halt their decline.
Citizen Scientists Needed!
By downloading Hedgehog Mapper and recording any hedgehogs you see, whether dead or alive, you can play an important part in this survey.
The records you submit using the app will be reviewed and checked by experts, before being added to London Wildlife Trust’s database.
Records will also be shared with Greenspace Information for Greater London CIC; London’s environmental records centre, and they will be added to the National Biodiversity Network Atlas to help further conservation work on hedgehogs. Any records received from outside of the London area will be shared with the relevant local records centre.
